AFRY delivers new solutions for the biorefinery

Our position as a producer of premium marine ingredients is strong. What used to be waste from farming is now an important and valuable residual raw material that we receive at our biorefinery on the Nordskaget. Producing sustainable ingredients requires good production facilities and increasingly sustainable technology.

Out on the Nordskaget, we process completely fresh off-cuts and fillets from the salmon into high-quality ingredients in the form of salmon oil and salmon meal. This extraction of raw materials ensures a circular value chain in salmon farming – and is in itself an advanced processing process that we are constantly improving on the way to traceless production and zero footprint.

The clever engineers at AFRY produce sustainable production solutions and have supported us in our latest and important investment in the processing plant. In 2024, a new evaporator will be in place and with it we will streamline and upgrade the recovery a notch further. We are gearing up for growth both in the aquaculture industry and in the markets we ourselves deliver to in the future.
