ABOUT NUTRIMAR
The blue field is a major source of important raw materials and healthy nutrition – and the Norwegian coastline is a major contributor. Nutrimar was founded in 2006 in order to contribute to a more sustainable marine industry. We’re based on the weather-resistant island Frøya. The basic idea was to utilize the residual raw material from the growing salmon industry and refine this into new and nutritious products. Today, we ensure that 100% of every salmon harvested from the cages is extracted in the best possible way. In addition, we harvest and refine the incredible and useful laminaria hyperborea, which grows in large quantity in the sea.
Our motivation is to produce fresh and climate-friendly marine ingredients that the world needs.
Nutrimar has 70 employees in total, allocated at the head office in Trondheim and at the biorefinery in Frøya. We are owned by the investment company Kverva Industrier AS and together we create sustainable, long-term and innovative solutions in our important marine industry.
